At the most recent meeting of Headbourne Worthy Parish Council on Monday 8 July 2019, the play area in The Dell was again on the agenda. Councillors discussed the merits of the two shortlisted quotations with the following criteria considered: 1- user preference, 2 - financial viability, 3 - maintenance considerations, 4 - references.  The Council is grateful for the significant input provided by residents.  After a robust discussion, the Council decided unanimously to specify the VitaPlay equipment for The Dell.

The equipment agreed is as follows: • Climbing frame • Swings • Village shop play panel
In addition, a bund will be constructed around the play equipment as a barrier for the children’s safety, and a Children Playing sign will be put up at the entrance to The Dell.

The work will take approximately 5 – 7 days and will likely begin on Thurday 1st  August.  Obviously it is not ideal that in the first full week of the summer holidays the play area will not be available for use, but Councillors hope that the remainder of the summer will see plenty of use and enjoyment.
