M3 Junction 9 closures 30/10

Planned works and a 24-hour closure of the A34/A33 southbound closure.

The contractors have been conducting essential repairs beneath Kings Worthy Bridge, including beam strengthening and concrete removal. The next phase of this repair work involves removing the first of two bridge beams.

Due to the location of the bridge and the size of the crane that will be used, they will need to close the A34 from Three Maids Hill southbound and the A33 from the Cart and Horses junction southbound for 24 hours to complete the northern edge beam removal safely.

This is planned to take place from 9pm on Saturday 15 November until 9pm on Sunday 16 November 2025.

There will be a diversion in place via the A34, A303 and the M3.

A34/A33 southbound diversions

Repairs to this bridge will continue throughout the course of the project. This will include re-installing the first beam and removing and re-installing the second beam. As the work progresses there will be continued updates.
