M3 junction 9 improvements project update

National Highways have now continuing with the new gyratory and several earthwork activities. There will also be some work that needs to take place during overnight closures. Below sets out the planned closures for the next few weeks.

The overnight closures are planned to start from 9pm and end by 6am, but this can change depending on the volume of traffic and when we can close the lanes safely.

Overnight closure update:

• On Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 June 2025 we are closing the M3 southbound between junctions 8 and 9. This is for sign installation and gantry removal.
  • Diversion: M3 southbound junctions 8 and 9 diversion
• On Thursday 19 June 2025 we are closing the M3 northbound between junctions 9 and 8. This closure is needed for CCTV replacement and gantry removal.
  • Diversion: M3 northbound junctions 9 and 8 diversion

Our diversion routes are designed to suit all vehicle types.

You are advised not to use a Satnav when following any of our diversions because there is a risk it could direct you down an unsuitable road or back onto the original network when it is closed.
