The Contractors have been working in the gyratory and the central reservation of the M3 getting it ready for the next traffic phase, which is shifting vehicles into a contraflow system on the M3 northbound which will allow the widening work to start.

To do this traffic management work along with other works the M3 will need to close overnight, this is set out below:

The contractors will continue to carry out work during the daytime. While some of thr activities will take place away from the road, you may see workers and machinery nearby.

The overnight closures are planned to start from 9pm and end by 6am, but this can change depending on the volume of traffic and when we can close the lanes safely.

Overnight closure update:

Diversion routes are designed to suit all vehicle types.

You are advised not to use a Satnav when following diversions because there is a risk it could direct you down an unsuitable road or back onto our network when it is closed.

Please remember that closures can change at short notice. You can check the latest information on our daily closures page or find live travel information on our Traffic England.
