A34 and A33 24-Hour Southbound Closure

Following the successful removal of the northern beam from the Kings Worthy Bridge in November, a new beam will now be installed. Due to size of the crane required, a full 24-hour closure is necessary for the A34 (from Three Maids Hill) and A33 (from the Cart and Horses junction), both southbound on:

  • 9pm on Saturday 7 February until 9pm on Sunday 8 February 2026

A diversion will be in place via the A34, A303, and the M3. Please see here for further details: A34/A33 southbound diversions.

While every effort will be made to minimise disruption during these weekends, some delays are expected during these essential improvement works. The contractors appreciate your continued understanding and support.

Diversion routes are designed to suit all vehicle types.

It is recommend that you not use a Satnav when following any of the diversions because there is a risk it could direct you down an unsuitable road or back onto our network when it is closed.
