M3 junction 9 improvements - Long term Road Closures. 03/07

M3 Jnct 9 upgrade - Planned long term closures

• M3 junction 9 northbound entry slip road will be closed from 9pm Friday 31 July 2026 until winter 2027 – this means there will be no access the M3 northbound from the roundabout.

Roads closed for full weekends this summer:

• A34 southbound will be closed from Bullington Cross
  • A34 southbound from Bullington to M3 junction 9 diversions
• A34 northbound will be closed to Three Maids Hill, also closing the A33 northbound
  • A34 northbound to Three Maids Hill including the A33 northbound diversions
• A33 southbound will be closed from the Cart and Horses junction
  • The A33 southbound from the Cart and Horses junction diversions
• Easton Lane will be closed both north and southbound at the Easton Lane Roundabout
  • Easton Lane north and southbound diversions
• A272 will be closed both northbound and southbound from the Spitfire roundabout (A31)
  • A272 northbound and southbound from the Spitfire roundabout (A31) diversion
• M3 junction 9 entry and exit slip roads will be closed both northbound and southbound
  • M3 junction 9 exit slip road northbound diversion
  • M3 junction 9 exit slip road southbound diversion
  • M3 junction 9 entry slip road southbound diversion
  • M3 junction 9 entry slip road northbound

Post the first weekend closure the long term M3 junction 9 northbound on slip diversion will be as per the below, however the diversion will revert to the above during the second and third weekends.

Closure dates and times:

• 9pm Friday 31 July to 6am on Monday 3 August
• 9pm Friday 21 August to 6am on Monday 24 August
• 9pm Friday 11 September to 6am on Monday 14 September

The diversion routes are designed to suit all vehicle types.

You are advised not to use a Satnav when following any of the diversions because there is a risk it could direct you down an unsuitable road or back onto the network when it is closed.
