Citizens Advice Contact Information
Headbourne Worthy Parish Council
In line with Government advice, the Citizen's Advice had to make the difficult decision to close temporarily their face-to-face services in mid-March. Since then they have been successfully running their core advice services remotely. They have been delivering these services via phone, email and webchat run by the usual team of our highly trained volunteers from their homes.
Citizen's Advice has also worked hard to ensure that their advisers are kept up to date with all the latest information on key areas of advice such as universal credit, employment advice and the latest Government support related to Covid-19. The size of the remote advice team is steadily expanding as they source more vital equipment such as mobile phones.
Last week Citizen's Advice helped local residents with 420 issues, such as claiming Universal Credit, or employment advice (compared with 283 in the same week last year). This reflects the increase in demand for their services but also demonstrates that they are responding well to the challenge. They expect these figures to continue to increase as they enable more volunteers to work from home.
Citizens Advice has been adapting services to respond to demand, for example, a new call back service has been launched, details are attached. This service enables clients to leave a message and receive a call back from one of our advisers. They also proactively contacting all clients they have seen in the past six months who are particularly vulnerable to see if they need any additional support at this time.
If you need to speak to Citizens Advice please use the contact details attached.
